Quinceanera Or Wedding Gold Tone Treasure Box with 13 Piece Arras Coin Set.
One of the most important celebrations in Mexican culture is the tradition of the quinceañera. In the Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central and South American traditions, the custom can be referred to as a Quince (XV) Años, aquinces,a Quinceanera, a Quinceanero or a Fiesta Rosa. The Quinceanera celebration traditionally begins with a religious ceremony. A Reception is held in the home or a banquet hall. This constitutes a ceremony on a girl's fifteenth birthday to mark her passage to womanhood, to give thanks to God for his blessings, and to present a young woman to the community. The celebration is very similar to a wedding.
When the coins and boxes are used at a wedding the Priest will bless the coins and box and pass this gift to the bride and groom. These blessed coins are to represent blessings and a prosperous future.
